Managing Time

I am very busy during the week. If I did not manage my time, I would get nothing accomplished. I go to school every morning until 12:00. At 12:00 I go to work at Verus Bank. I get off of work at 6:00 pm every night. Physical fitness is very important to me so I go to the YMCA until about 7:30 pm. When I am finished I go home and work on homework and spend time with my friends or go to see my family.
When I do not get the things done that I need, I start to get really stressed. If I don't manage my time wisely I do not get everything done that I need to.
Everyday I feel like I am racing the clock and trying to get everything done. I just have to remember that everything I do each day is important and getting it done helps me relax. Some days I take a break from everything and just do something completely for fun. I think a person must do that to keep from getting over stressed. I usually come home early and skip my workout and just watch T.V. and go to bed early.
In high school time was pretty much managed by my teachers. They knew when we had sports activities and made things easier. I think I am doing alright at managing my time. It is more difficult than in high school and takes more work. There are just things that I had to get used to to make it easier.

Coping with Change

Change can be extremely difficult because a person gets used to something, and then has to do something different. Trying something new can be scary and make a person feel very unsure of themselves. Taking risks is something that a lot of people find hard to do and that is sort of what change is. You are taking a risk to do something new. I had a scholarship to play volleyball at a community college about two hours from home. I had all of my stuff packed and ready when I realized that wasn't what I wanted at all. I changed my mind and enrolled at Butler. I knew I had always wanted to be a teacher and Butler was a great place to start. I moved out of my parents house and out on my own. So many things have changed in my life recently and it was very scary. I wasn't sure if I could make it all work, but I took the risk. My parents were nervous for me and so were my friends. I wasn't sure why I made the change, but I felt like I needed to.
